Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is a great event for the rowing club. This year, the club entered a crew, Bladz of Glory and won the Challenge Trophy for coming first the Grand Final. The club also played a key role in helping the Rotary Club raise £70,000 this year for St Leonard's Hospice. In the eight years of this event, YCRC has helped the Rotary Club to raise over £500,000 for local charities.

Reunion for York City Rowing Club legends
Another article in the York Press, this time reporting on the 40th anniversary reunion of the 1970 Women’s Eights Head of the River Race Crew from YCRC that won their division. To read the full article, click here.
Women's Eights Head Result
The women's squad were represented at the tideway this weekend. The crew started 30th after a finish place of 41st last year and rowed well to gain a higher finishing position, achieving 31st in a time of 19.59.
Crew: D Stork (cox), Loretta Williams, Cath Smith, Mags Felter, Amelia Sankey, Vicki Johnson, Jess Fitzpatrick, Lizzie Higgins and Tasha Kefford.
Yorkshire Head
The next open event to be held in York will be the Yorkshire Head on 13th March 2010. THe event is organised by the Yorkshire Rowing Council. 5100m downstream on the River Ouse from Rawcliffe Landing to Lendel Bridge, York.
Entries are accepted through OARA and close 6th March.
