Grimsby Indoor Rowing Championships
YCRC Masters Bob Jones and Phil Stubley achieved great results at the recent Grimsby Indoor Rowing Championships. Drawing lots for who would race heavyweight or lightweight (both are lightweights), Bob drew the heavyweight event and finished second to the British record holder in the 70+ category in a time of 6.05 for the one mile distance. Phil then went one better and took gold in the 70+ lightweight event in 6.07. Both then competed in the sprint events where Phil took both wins and set new British records over the 100m and 300m distances.
Phil and Bob also compete in the International Concept II On Line Challenge Series and are currently in 3rd and 4th position in a field of 27 Competitors in their age group category.
Tees Long Distance Sculls and Small Boats Head
The club took a full trailer of boats to the Tees Watersports Centre for the Long Distance Sculling and Small Boats Head events. Very pleasingly, all sections of the club were represented and all recorded successes, from junior boys and girls, men's and women's seniors and masters.
Wins in the morning races were achieved by the J16 double scull, J17 double scull, J16 single scull and Womens Masters C single- Anne Homa, who set the fastest women's singles time of the whole day overall.
Boat Naming - 15th May
The club will be naming 3 new boats on Sunday 15th May at 12 noon. Two doubles which will be named Castlegate and Swinegate and the new quad, Gill Porteous.

Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is a great event for the rowing club. This year, the club entered a crew, Bladz of Glory and won the Challenge Trophy for
coming first the Grand Final. The club also played a key role in helping the Rotary Club raise £70,000 this year for St Leonard's Hospice. In the eight years of this event, YCRC has helped the Rotary Club to raise over £500,000 for local charities.
