Senior (18+) Men’s and Women’s Squads
Taster Sessions now open for booking!
Have you seen us on the river and want to give it a go? Or fancy yourself as an athlete competing with our Squads at National Regattas? Our 2018 Taster Sessions are now available to book! Spaces are available on the following dates and fill up fast so book early to avoid missing out!
- Saturday 21st July 10:30 – 12:00 (Full)
- Saturday 18th August 10:30 – 12:00 (Almost Full!)
- Saturday 25th August 10:30 – 12:00 (Almost Full!)
The session will last approx 90 minutes – 2 hours and will involve some technical work on the indoor rowing machines and a trip on the river with experienced rowers.
Visit our Webcollect Page to book your place. The session is £10 per person. There is no need to attend more than one session as each one is identical. (It isn’t a progressive course)
We’ll meet you in-front of the Club to sign you in, each session has a maximum of 12 newbies on it so you’ll start on the Rowing machine indoors with one of our coaches then split into 2 groups to have a go in our biggest boat class, an 8+. There will be a coach along side you in a launch along with at least 2 experienced rowers and an experienced cox. Don’t worry, you’ll be in safe hands!
If you can’t swim, we’ll ask you to wear a life jacket whilst you’re on the water.
Wear your usual gym kit but ABSOLUTELY NO baggy clothes. (loose clothing will get stuck in the seat wheels and impede your stroke). We have changing facilities if you need, please ensure you’re ready to go at 10:30 so arrive a little earlier if you want to change at the club.
There is no obligation to sign up for membership after your session, we’re not pushy, you can simply come and try it out before making any decision. If you do have questions in the meantime please don’t hesitate to contact our Captains:
Carl Barker Men’s Captain – firstname.lastname@example.org
Sophy Nicholson Women’s Captain – Sophy.email@example.com
Already an experienced rower?
