Learn to Row



Every year, YCRC runs an adult Learn 2 Row course in the summer as an introduction to rowing. Anyone can come along and have a go.

LEARN TO ROW WITH YORK CITY ROWING CLUB

Rowing is a fun and satisfying way to improve health, fitness and strength.
Some regard the sport as a way of getting fit, others get fit to improve their performance.

Rowing is a sport which can be either competitive or recreational.
Rowers can either be part of a crew and experience team activity, or enjoy the skills of single sculling.

York City Rowing Club likes to welcome all who wish to learn how to row.

The only stipulation is that you are over 18, in good health and can swim at least 50 metres in light clothing and shoes.

The next learn to row course for this year is starting on Monday the 8th of August 2011 at 6.30pm.
It will run every Monday & Wednesday evening for 5 weeks in total from 6.30pm until 8.00pm.
(10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th & 31st of August, 5th and 7th of September ).

The courses will teach basic rowing technique taught both on and off the water.

Monday the 8th of August is the safety and familiarization session and must be attended by all who wish to complete the course.

The cost of the course is £60. Please make cheques payable to York City Rowing Club.

Places on the course are limited and will be given in the order the applications are received.

There are no refunds for missed attendance.
