Small Boats Head 13th January 2024- rescheduled from November 2023

After having to cancel in November, the very popular Small Boats Head will now be running on Saturday 13th January 2024.

Racing will be 3,000m upstream from Fulford Landing to King’s Staith in the centre of York over 2 divisions at 1115 and 1415. We will also be offering 8s.

Yorkshire Head 25th February 2023

Organised and run by the Yorkshire Rowing Council, hosted by York City. Events for most boat classes in 2 divisions over 5,000m downstream from Rawcliffe Landing near the by-pass bridge to just above York City Rowing Club.


Spring Regatta 29th April 2023

An early season regatta, 1000m downstream, stakeboat start from near St Peter’s Boathouse to just above York City Rowing Club. Events offered for most boat classes.


Summer Regatta 18th June 2023

Our oldest event, established in 1863. 1000m downstream, stakeboat start from near St Peter’s Boathouse to just above York City Rowing Club. Events offered for most boat classes.


Autumn Sculls

Our newest event, started in 2015 to provide early season head racing in small boats, ideal for setting a benchmark for the season ahead. Events for most boat classes in 2 divisions over 4,000m downstream from Rawcliffe Landing near the by-pass bridge to just above Scarborough Railway Bridge in the city centre.


Small Boats Head – Rescheduled to 14th Jan 2023

Our most popular event, approx 350 coxed & coxless quads and fours, pairs, double and singles racing in 3 divisions over 3,000m upstream from Fulford Landing near the A64 bridge to King’s Staith in the city centre. Regularly oversubscribed so enter early!
